Grow Tips: Plant in full sun to light shade with moist to average soil. This species thrives in mountainous habitats and can tolerate drought once established. It spreads into tight clumps and rarely needs division. In hotter climates, it prefers shadier conditions, often found in oak woodlands. Ideal for mass planting along woodland garden edges, it is pest and disease-resistant and unpalatable to herbivores. The flowers attract various pollinators, providing nectar in spring and early summer. Although slow to establish, it’s a beautiful addition to any garden.
