Three colors on one plant! Colorful, durable shrubs are what we are all about, and we’re pleased to add Dandy Man Color Wheel® rhododendron to our selection. Seeing its glorious blooms is bound to make you a fan as well – they start out as lipstick-red buds and open to reveal big, ruffled blooms with deep pink undersides and soft pink insides. The blooms age to a pure, clean white before falling off. As the plant goes through its late spring bloom period, you’ll see all three at once, making for a super colorful display. Handsome, leathery leaves carry it through the rest of the year. But it’s not just a pretty face – it also has excellent disease resistance (including to phytophthora) and heat tolerance.

Grow Tips: Like other rhododendron, Dandy Man Color Wheel requires acidic, well-drained soil. A good 2-3″/5-7cm layer of shredded bark mulch does a lot to keep the roots happy and foster the soil conditions that rhododendrons prefer. May be pruned selectively as desired, but avoid any kind of regular pruning or cutting back. You may remove the spent blooms if you wish, but it is not necessary by any stretch.
